Navigating This Season
As someone who has suffered during a few holiday seasons, I know that this time isn’t always “merry.” From grief to lack, many are struggling to find the strength to make it through the holidays. I want to send you three quick reminders as you navigate this season.
You are not alone. Many people can relate to what you’re feeling, so know that you’re not isolated in what you’re experiencing.
It’s okay to NOT be okay. This season, instead of faking a smile to get through the holidays, try something new. Honor your feelings by giving yourself grace and truly evaluate what you need during this time (anything from rest to a venting session).
God knows and He is taking care of the matter. I know it’s tough to see what God is doing in your life when your days are dark. But please know that things are shifting in your favor day by day. Hang on to that hope this season.
It’s easier said than done, but I want you to try your best to affirm daily that God is carrying you and you will THRIVE through your current circumstances. Take time to sleep, yell, seek help, seek quiet time, hang with friends, hang with yourself on a solo date, journal, take a walk, go to church, listen to a podcast…literally, do WHATEVER you need to do to take care of yourself.
Above all, pray always and never lose faith that God can turn your situation around in a heartbeat. Do you know why Jesus can sleep during a storm? Because He knows the power He holds to stop the winds in an instant. He knows that His presence on your boat is all you need for the waters to calm down. Do you know about His power? It’s time that you become more acclimated with your Father so you can lean on Him even more!
I declare that you WILL find the light in the darkness of this season. You WILL find moments of joy during the holidays. You WILL not only make it through but THRIVE through it all. Hang on, baby girl!
