Fulfilling a Longing While Fulfilling Your Purpose
Sisterhood has always been a huge desire for me as someone who grew up in a house as the only child (I have siblings, but we didn’t grow up in the same household). I spent many years feeling like there was a void, but I couldn’t pinpoint what it was. It wasn’t until I got closer to my blood sisters over the years and began making friends as an adult that I realized I was missing the feeling of sisterhood.
So, I would always seek opportunities to bring women together. It started as small events in my apartment complex like the ones pictured below. I would invite my friends over for cute, themed events to bring us together and love on one another as well as ourselves.
So, to fast forward to this year and watch the growth of RAWCove, I am just blown away by the fact that a simple longing has turned into God creating a community of women from all over! Women I didn’t know at the start of the year are now sisters that I pray I’ll be connected to forever.
I say this to say, God will use your longing to cultivate your purpose. He will put you in a position to create a mission that supports the very thing you felt you were missing for years. He never misses an opportunity to use your pain for a purpose.
Ask yourself today, “What is a void I wish I could fill or a deep desire that I have?” I encourage you to write it out and pray over it. Ask God to show you how you can turn that answer into a purpose-driven mission. The blessing is that it will not only fulfill you, but it will help others who are experiencing the same void that you have.
Thank you to the ladies of RAWCove for helping me continuously achieve the goal that God has set for this community. May we continue to grow together and be a light to the world around us. I love you all!
